H Tiddy celebrate 20 years of selling property in Gorran Haven.

Gorran Haven Property

H Tiddy independent estate agents have been established for over 100 years and are based in St Mawes. They pride themselves on good old fashioned service and values but use up to date technology to widely promote the properties they sell to local, national and international buyers. They have been successfully selling properties in the St Austell Bay area for over 20 years and, they are specialists in the local area covering The Roseland Peninsula and also the areas around the Fal River and Carrick Roads.

Mark Willson, Director of H Tiddy Estate Agents reported “ one of the reasons why we are so successful in what we do is that we do not get side tracked selling other products such as mortgages and simply concentrate on just selling property at the best price possible for our clients. All our staff are local and know the area very well. They are usually able to immediately answer questions raised by viewers, especially about the local area, which gives the potential buyer confidence to offer on a property.”

Mark went on to say: “since I joined H Tiddy in 2006, we have done a great deal of business in the St Austell Bay area and in particular Gorran Haven. For instance, H Tiddy has, over the last 10 years, sold nearly £10.8 million pounds worth of properties in Gorran Haven alone.” Pictured is an aerial photograph of Gorran Haven. The arrows highlight the properties which H Tiddy have sold during 2006 to 2016.

Also pictured is Jack Hunkin, Valuer and Negotiator at H Tiddy. He joined the company in 2014 after working for a local corporate estate agent. He has lived and worked in the local area all his life. After gaining a degree at The University of St Mark and St John in Plymouth, Jack worked in a number of sales roles before finding his true niche in estate agency.

The Hunkin family name is one that will be familiar to many in the Mevagissey area. The family have lived and worked in the village since the 1700’s and have even traced their history in Cornwall back to the 1500’s. Jack is married to a local girl who was born and grew up in Portmellon.

Jack stated: " I am delighted to have the opportunity to work in an area I have such a connection with. I have a great passion for Cornwall and feel privileged and proud to say that I was born and bred in such a beautiful part of the world.”

Mark Willson commented “ Jack has been a wonderful addition to the team and we have noticed an increase in sales activity as a result. Demand is currently outstripping supply and we are in urgent need of properties to sell in all price categories and all areas.”

H Tiddy offer a purely “no sale, no fee” selling package with no upfront charges for photography, brochures, floor plans, energy performance certificates as well as marketing their properties on all major property websites, Cornish newspapers and window displays in St Mawes, Portscatho and Park Lane, London. Their fees are payable only once the property exchanges contracts with a willing and able buyer introduced by the company. The advantages of their “no sale no fee” structure is that they are motivated to sell property since they will not get paid otherwise. H Tiddy usually charge a percentage of the final price achieved, meaning the higher the price they negotiate on behalf of the seller, the higher the commission they receive.

Mark Willson said: “ the problem with paying anyone upfront is that there is no incentive for the individual or company to go that extra mile. For example, you would not pay a builder up front for their labour until they have successfully finished the job.”

Mark, Jack and the team at H Tiddy are keen to talk to anyone who is thinking of selling. Their valuations are treated in the strictest confidence, are without any obligation and, they are free. Please do not hesitate to telephone them on 01326 270212 or visit their website at www.htiddy.co.uk.
