Bohortha

Bohortha is a small unspoilt coastal and ancient hamlet in an area of outstanding natural beauty, located just a third of a mile from Porthbeor Beach and a third of a mile from Place Ferry (giving access to St Mawes). The hamlet is central as a walkers' paradise with access to several beaches and the South West Coastal Path. As well as Porthbeor, there are several fine beaches nearby including Towan, Molunan, Elwynick Cove, Porthcurnick, Pendower and Carne Beaches. At St Anthony Headland there is a lighthouse and battlements. The Percuil River, St Mawes Harbour and Carrick Roads provide some of the finest sailing waters in the country and Percuil Boatyard, with mooring facilities, is close by. In addition to all this there are many miles of rural and coastal footpaths including several located adjacent to the property; one that leads to Place from where there is a passenger ferry to St Mawes; others meander up the Percuil River to Froe and Trewince Manor with a café and swimming pool. Bohortha is approximately 2.5 miles from the villages of Gerrans and Portscatho where there are sufficient shops for day to day living and other needs, including mini-market, a butcher, a post office, a church, pub, restaurant, primary school and doctor's surgery. The King Harry Car Ferry provides a short cut to Truro and Falmouth. Truro is the commercial capital of Cornwall. The city has a mainline rail link to London (approximately 4.5 hours) and an excellent range of private and secondary schools, Royal Cornwall Hospital and a college. Falmouth University has combined degree courses with Exeter. Newquay Airport has daily links to London (approximately 70 minutes).
