The picturesque south facing harbour village of St. Mawes on the eastern side of the Fal Estuary has long been one of Cornwall’s most desirable and exclusive destinations. Far enough away from the main communications and larger towns to have retained its charm, it also has a good road network to the village, across the beautiful unspoilt countryside of the Roseland Peninsula and is also linked to the port of Falmouth and the cathedral city of Truro, via the King Harry Ferry on the River Fal.
St. Mawes is centred around its small stone harbour and has its own beaches, sailing club, castle, shops and a handful of good pubs and restaurants, including of course, Olga Polizzi’s Hotel Tresanton and The Idle Rocks.
THE LOCATION CONT
There is a regular passenger ferry from the harbour to the town of Falmouth across the estuary, and from Easter to October to Trelissick and Truro and to St Anthony’s Head and the picture- postcard Place House across the Percuil River.
For those wanting to get away from the hum drum of city life and escape with family to the water for the weekend, but still have access to fine dining, then St. Mawes is quite understandably the first choice for many and is also well suited for family living with a local primary school, an academy in nearby Tregony and a good choice of independent Prep and Senior Schools in Truro.
Boasting beautiful views over the St Anthony’s Head and the Percuil River, which forms part of the sailing waters of the Carrick Roads,Teg Gwel is an impressive family home offering spacious accommodation.Throughout the house, the well- appointed property benefits from a chic contemporary interior finish with accommodation that spans over 3000 sq ft.
Due to its elevated positon,Teg Gwel commands exceptional river and rolling countryside views which can be most enjoyed from the main living area and the impressive full length balcony.
The property entrance is defined by its slate paved area and large oak door framed by glazed panels which opens into the reception hall. Inside the hall is a WC, storage cupboard and two inner halls leading to four spacious bedrooms, a study/ bedroom and into the open plan main living area. The master en suite bedroom is finished with fitted wardrobes and sliding patio doors leading onto a decked sun terrace. The second bedroom at the end of the opposite inner hall is also equipped with full length sliding doors allowing views over the garden and river.
